In 2003, an organic farmers' market was established at
the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland, CA.
The goal was to:
1. Promote healthy eating as a key element of our health education
and health maintenance programs;
2. Create a healthy food environment for staff, patients and community
residents; and
3. Support the agricultural community.
Coming soon, there may be as many as 30 farmers' markets
at Kaiser Permanente facilities in 5 states.
At Axis-360.com we recognize Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical
Center as being one of the pioneers in supporting healthy lifestyles
within a healthy community.
